Texada Island Travel & Tourism Accommodations, Activities, Attractions, Restaurants & Information

Texada Island is the largest of all the Gulf Islands between Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast on the mainland.  Texada is 50 Km (31miles) long and 10 km (6 miles) wide and is home to just approximately 1000 permanent residents. Texada enjoys some of the mildest weather in Canda.  From Texada you can get awesome views of the Coastal Mountains on the mainland and also of Vancouver Island.

You can get to Texada from Powell River on the mainland using BC Ferries which offers 10 return trips daily.  Or, you can take the Comox ferry to Powell River from Vancouver Island and then take the ferry from the same terminal to Blubber Bay on Texada Island.  Watch carefully so you get in the right line-up (to Texada, not Comox) or you will end up back on Vancouver Island.

If you starting point is Vancouver BC, then you need to travel from the BC Ferry Terminal at Horseshoe Bay to Langdale. Then drive to  Earl's Cove and take another Ferry to Saltery Bay.  Then drive from Saltery Bay to Powell River.  If you take this route and leave on the first ferry in the morning, you will get to Texada around 1:00 pm.  It is a delightful and scenic trip.
