The Coombs Old Country Market is the best "Tourist Trap" in the entire world. Its success has spawned a tourism boom for Coombs, a small community near Parksville BC. It has a bakery bar (shown above), a 40 foot ice cream bar (that makes the biggest and best ice cream cones on the Island), a restaurant, groceries, baked goods, and a treasure chest of gifts, gadgets, toys and more from all over the world. My guess is that about 80% of the people who go through the door buy an ice cream cone. You will only need one scoop, believe me!

The Old County Market became famous because of the goats who live on the roof. These goats are one of the best picture opportunities on the Island. They have had their picture taken many times. The market also has clothing, a garden centre and now a furniture store. There are tons of other stores close by.
