This list provides your with a wide selection of activities in and
around Victoria. As most of these programs are for children, they constitute
child care opportunities. Some offer special child care sessions. Some
also offer Birthday Party packages. These are noted in Bold
and Italics! These were obtained through extensive research
and the assumption has been made that they will be there from year to
year. Some may close. As we determine this they will be removed. Due
to the volume of information on this site, we cannot be responsible

Community
Recreation Centres
Most of the local
recreation centres offer reasonably priced and good
quality holiday and summer weeklong camps. Some
will also take children just for the day. Some of the recreation
centres also offer child care for short periods of time. You can
take a break and have a swim or workout and have your children
taken care of. Some are in close proximity to shopping, so you
may be able to leave your child there while you do some power
shopping or other activities. Check the
list
and call around. STRONG> Baby Sitting, Child Care and Special
Birthday Packages are offered by most centres.

Mineral World
& Scratch Patch
This Unique business
at Port Sidney caters to children. CBC radio described this store
as one of Canada's ten "must see" stores. Admission
is free. Outdoors, for a small fee you can collect gemstones and
shells by purchasing an empty bag that you can fill to the brim.
You can also pan for gold. In side is a table where you can make
your own jewelry. The store has educational toys, books projects
and posters.
