Parksville is a world class destination. The beaches in Parksville are spectacular. When the tide goes out, you can walk for ever. It is a phenominal spot for family vacations as the water is shallow and the large beach expanse offers an incredible playground in which to explore the intertidal zone. It just does not get any better than this.
Some of the most spectacular parks on Vancouver Island are in the immediate vicinity. Englishman River Falls has two falls with pools where you can swim and dive with care from the rocks. Little Qualicum Falls also offers some very special photographic opportunities. Cathedral Grove gives everyone the opportunity to get up close and personal with very old growth forests, some trees 800 years old, just steps from the parking area. Horne Lake Caves offer you a caving opportunity that is special indeed. The area is a golfing mecca with something for everyone from a 36 hole mini-golf, executive courses and right up to championship courses. Then there is Coombs, with the "world famous - goats on the roof" tourist trap that even the locals go to on a regular basis. Believe me, this store has something for everyone and a world class ice cream and gelato bar. This is part of Vancouver Island that you just can't miss.
