Mayne Island
Mayne Island has 2 official boat ramps, one at David Cove, and one at Village Bay. Both are only good at mid to high tide levels only. There is another launch site at Horton Bay (Steward Drive) that many Islanders use. There is a steep gravel ramp to a hard gravel beach that works well if you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The launch works at alll tide levels. Check www.mayneislanschamber.ca for the island map with these locations.

Campbell River

1 MCIVOR LAKE BOAT RAMP
2 KEN FORDE BOAT RAMP
3 TYEE SPIT BOAT RAMP
4 BIG ROCK BOAT RAMP

Tofino:
Downtown Tofino to the left of the First Street, wharf a.k.a. The Whiskey Dock. This is a free boat launch and there is no parking available right at the launch site. It is also kind of an awkward launch site for larger vehicles and boats so it is mostly used for launching smaller dingys, canoes and kayaks.

At the Fourth Street wharf and marina is located the most widely used boat launch. The ramp has been extended this year for launching on any tide. It costs $10 per boat. There is paid parking available on a 24hr basis at $5 per vehichle and $5per trailer. GST is applicable to all charges. Phone 250-725-4441, Tofino Harbour Authority

At Grice Bay in the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve there is a boat ramp that is free but there is a fee to park your car there. Overnights should inform the Park Administration when buying your pass that you will be parking there for an extended period. Parking space is limited. At low tide the area is a mud flat so time your launching and pull outs accordingly. Phone 250-726-7721, Park Administration

A boat launch is located beside the parking lot at the north end of Long Beach beside Hwy 4.

Parksville - Qualicum Beach

French Creek - excellent ramp - launch at any tide level - fee charged - access to Georgia Strait near Lasqueti Island and Cortez Island
